Accountant:

  1. Prepares program budgets and requisition funds for assigned program. Prepare schedules and maintains budget controls on various programs working with managers as appropriate.  Administer contracts for various programs.
  2. Prepare journal entries, scheduled interim and year end financial statements and reports.
  3. Perform accounting duties for payroll, employee benefits and insurance programs. Work with payroll services and human resources to coordinate information and data needed to prepare budgets, reconcile discrepancies and authorize and/or make payment to providers.
  4. Perform accounting duties for Non-Profit affiliate, State Modernization and energy savings programs.
  5. Reconcile bank accounts; Prepare a variety of financial forms and statements.
  6. Prepare financial analyses.
  7. Conduct special accounting projects.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting  or related field.  Three to five years of accounting experience; preferably with housing or government accounting. Applicants must also possess the ability to exercise sound judgment, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.  Any equivalent combination of education, experience, training and experience which, in the sole determination of the SHA, provides the required knowledge and abilities may be considered sufficient.
